Here we are, part way into March already, and there’s that unmistakable feeling in the air that wedding season is just around the corner. The days are starting to stretch out a little longer, the promise of lighter evenings is creeping in, and before we know it the clocks will be going forward. For anyone involved in the events industry, that moment always feels like the real starting gun for the year ahead. For us at Box Photo Booths, it’s the time when diaries start filling up with weddings, celebrations, and all the incredible moments we get to be part of throughout the season.
While we’re very much looking forward to diving headfirst into all things weddings for 2026, the past few weeks have actually been all about the parties. And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. The early part of the year often brings a slightly different kind of event, and it’s been great to kick things off with some fantastic celebrations across the South Coast.
Recently we’ve been out and about providing our photo booths in Dorset Holiday parks for Waterside, who own and operate four fantastic holiday parks down here by the sea. Three of their parks are based in Dorset, with the fourth located a little further west in beautiful Cornwall. If you know the area, you’ll know just how stunning that stretch of coastline can be – even when there’s still a bit of a chill in the air.
After a long and fairly cold winter, this time of year marks a bit of a turning point for the parks. Many of the static holiday home owners start returning for the new season, opening up their caravans and lodges again after the quieter months. To mark the occasion, Waterside put on a brilliant series of “Welcome Back” parties for their owners, which is exactly where we came in.
The idea behind the evenings is simple but brilliant: bring everyone back together, shake off those winter cobwebs, and start the new season with a proper celebration. The bars are open, there’s fantastic live entertainment lined up, plenty of laughter, plenty of dancing… and of course, a photo booth to capture it all.

Our booths are always a bit of a magnet at events like these. Once the first group jumps in and the photos start printing (or sharing), the queue quickly starts to build. Friends who haven’t seen each other since the end of last season pile in together, families grab a few quick snaps before heading back to the dance floor, and before long the whole evening takes on that brilliant, slightly chaotic party energy that makes these events so much fun.
What we love most about these kinds of gatherings is the atmosphere. They’re relaxed, friendly, and full of people who genuinely enjoy being there. For many of the owners, their holiday homes are a real escape, so these “Welcome Back” evenings are as much about reconnecting with neighbours and friends as they are about celebrating the start of spring.
And from our side of the booth, it’s always brilliant to watch that unfold. You see the first slightly sensible photos at the start of the evening, then as the night goes on the props come out, the poses get sillier, and the laughter gets louder. By the end of the night there are hundreds of moments captured that people can look back on long after the music stops.
Events like these are also a great reminder that photo booths aren’t just for weddings. Yes, we absolutely love wedding season and all the incredible celebrations that come with it, but corporate parties, staff events, holiday park entertainment, birthdays and big celebrations like these are just as much fun in their own way.

Photo Booths in Dorset keeping guests happy
The photo booth of choice each time was the Old Bench
Now in its 7th year, this booth continues to be as popular as ever. In fact, we are about to give it a bit of an update, with fresh vines, florals and a bit of new tech inside it, but thats for another day.
Guests loved getting stuck in, the prints were flowing (along with the drinks) and we have to say, these were some of the best crowds we have had in a while.
On one of these events, we also provided our Retro One Gamer. Its fair to say, it was a little odd putting an aracde machine into a holiday park full of aracde machines, but this one was FREE for the guests to use. And they got stuck in! We have actually added a host of new games just recently to it including Batman, Mortal Combat, WWF Superstars, Mario Bros and many more.
Its really been a great few events, with super friendly staff, lovely guests and a set of holiday parks that were honestly so clean, welcoming and well worth holidaying at.
What else is new with us....
Apart from whats above, and the new updates to the Retro One Arcade Machine, there has been quite a bit of work done on our website. So often these are little updates that you just wouldn't notice unless you visited us a lot, and thats unlikely.
We have added new Frequently Asked Questions to every booth page. We have taken the questions you most often ask and made it easier for you to get the information on whats included with our photo booth hires.
The next big job on our list is the photo templates. This is a long over due, often put off job because its just such a big one. Creating many new templates takes time but we are almost ready.
We are seperating the galleries to make it easier for you to see different designs depending on what sort of event your having. There will end up being a few less designs, but what there will be far more classy looking. We will shout when thats done!
New bundles added!
What was our only bundle, 'The Wedding Bundle' has now been given a makeover, and we have added 3 more!
We now have the Rustic Bundle (this was the wedding bundle) which has been increasingly popular over the past 18 months or so, the Backdrop Bundle, which includes a selfie pod, image popping backdrop and an arcade machine.
Then there's the Booth Bundle, we think this will prove a popular choice, combining our Fotoautomat, Giant Love Letters and the Rustic Arcade machine.
And coming very soon is the Retro Bundle, which will include a brand new selfie pod, brand new retro giant letters and our fantastic, game packed, Retro One arcade machine.
You can view these now on the website, with exactly whats included, pricing and hopefully your most common questions answered, but if not, just drop us a line and we will be happy to help.
And just finally, watch out for our new ads rolling over the internet, well social media anyway. Its a lovely clean look, and we think the Fotoautomat looks rather dashing in it.
Much Love
The Box Team
